Public Service Pension Plan

*Update June 28, 2011

If you receive your pension cheques in the mail, please note that our June 2011 pension payments were released to the Post Office earlier than usual and we expect they will be delivered in the coming days.

To avoid any future delay in the receipt of your pension cheques, you may wish to consider enrolling for direct deposit. To sign up, send a written request, along with a void cheque, to the Pension Centre. Make sure to include your pension number on both documents. Please note that it is not possible to have the changes made for the current month. (2011-06-28)

In the event of a full postal strike, your pension cheques will be sent by courier.

During the strike, you are encouraged to send any pension–related documentation to the Public Service Pension Centre by facsimile at 418–566–6298, or by courier at the following address:

If you are still receiving your pension cheques by mail, you may wish to consider enrolling for direct deposit to avoid any future disruption in the receipt of your pension cheques. To sign up, send a written request by facsimile, along with a void cheque, to the Pension Centre. Make sure to include your pension number on both documents. Please note that it is not possible to have the changes made for the current month.

Public Service Health Care Plan

For the duration of this postal strike, Sun Life Financial is taking steps to serve Public Service Health Care Plan members. Please consult the PSHCP Administration Authority Web site (www - Hyperlinking Notice) for additional information.

Public Service Dental Care Plan

To help ensure prompt delivery of your dental claims to Great-West Life, you may wish to consider the following convenient electronic services.

Submitting a dental claim and receiving reimbursement during the strike

Most dentists have the capability to electronically submit your claims directly to Great-West Life. Claim reimbursements are typically issued by cheque or direct deposit. During the strike, to receive your claim reimbursement, sign-up for Direct Deposit:

  • Go to the Great West Life Web site(www - Hyperlinking Notice)
  • Select GroupNet for Plan Members.
  • Sign-In by entering your username and password.
  • If not yet registered, follow the easy registration steps. You will need your plan number and certificate number.
  • Sign up for Direct Deposit. You will need your bank account information.

Alternatively, claims can be submitted to Great-West Life by you over the internet using Member eClaims:

  • Follow the instructions above; and,
  • Click Claims and choose Online Claim, then follow the easy steps.

Pensioners' Dental Services Plan

To help ensure prompt delivery of your dental claims to Sun Life Financial, you may wish to consider the following convenient electronic services:

Submitting a dental claim and receiving reimbursement during the strike

Most dentists have the capability to electronically submit your claims directly to Sun Life. Claim reimbursements are typically issued by cheque or direct deposit. During the strike, to receive your claim reimbursement, sign-up for direct deposit:

  • Go to the Sun Life PDSP Web site(www - Hyperlinking Notice)
  • Sign-in by entering your access ID and password.
  • If not yet registered, follow the easy registration steps. You will need your plan number and certificate number.
  • Sign up for direct deposit. You will need your bank account information.

Alternatively, claims can be submitted to Sun Life by you over the internet using e-claims:

  • Follow the instructions above; and,
  • Click on “my claims” and choose “Dental e-claims”, then follow the easy steps.

Disability Insurance Plan

During the postal disruption, Sun Life Financial is taking the following steps to serve Disability Insurance (DI) Plan members:

Submitting a claim during the postal disruption

Compensation advisors and employees are encouraged to submit completed disability insurance claim forms to Sun Life by secure fax to 1-866-639-7849 (toll-free) or by courier (at their own cost) to the following address:

If you have any questions or experience any difficulties submitting your claim form during the postal interruption using the above methods, please contact the Sun Life call centre at 1-800-361-6212 (toll-free).

If you are currently receiving DI plan benefits

If you have not yet done so, we encourage you to sign up for direct deposit now by following these three easy steps:

  1. Write "VOID" on the front of a personalized cheque, with your name pre-printed on it.
  2. Write your "policy number" and "claim control number" on the cheque.
  3. If you live in the Atlantic Provinces, Quebec or Ottawa, Fax to 1-866-639-7846. For all other provinces or territories, Fax to 1-866-209-7215.

If you do not opt to sign up for direct deposit, please contact Sun Life to discuss available options in order to obtain your DI benefits cheque during the postal interruption.

Public Service Management Insurance Plan Long-Term Disability

During the postal disruption, Industrial Alliance is taking the following steps to serve Public Service Management Insurance Plan (PSMIP) Long-Term Disability (LTD) members:

Submitting a PSMIP LTD claim during the postal interruption

Compensation Advisors and employees are encouraged to submit completed disability insurance claim forms to Industrial Alliance by secure fax to 1-877-781-1583(toll-free) orby courier (at their own cost) to the following address:

Next, send the completed form along with a voided cheque by secure Fax to 1-877-781-1583.

If you do not opt to sign-up for direct deposit

Please contact the call centre at Industrial Alliance to discuss available options to obtain your LTD benefits cheque during the postal interruption.

Submitting Claims for Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), Death, Life Insurance applications, Declaration of Health forms

To submit life insurance applications and Declaration of Health forms, please return the completed confidential forms to your Compensation Advisor who will then courier the package to the appropriate department.

To submit a claim for AD&D or Death, please fax the claim form to 1-877-781-1583.
